i just finished reading ricky lee's PARA KAY B. it was ok; it's just that the idea of characters coming into life and demanding new endings from their author isn't really new... dami na sumulat ng ganun. 4 years ago, i even played aia--- isang tula ng pag-ibig na nabuhay upang usigin ang kanyang sariling makata. (too bad that play, sais, never saw the light. hahahaha.) basta same theme halos: the blurred line between real life and fiction; authors playing God; pati yung mismong plot na writer starts out by having an idea for his characters, but then they take a life of their own, and then the writer is hard-pressed to make happilyeverafters for everyone. and then it gets you thinking, if the characters are now alive anyway, why don't they just weave their own stories?
3 stars out of 5 for me.

e di ba nga. sabi ni shakespeare, all the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players... ikaw? masaya ka ba sa takbo ng script mo? anong ending ang gusto mong mangyari?
---
