*SUPERSTITIOUS*

we can only take charge of our lives to an extent and part of being powerless over all circumstances means the blame has got to fall on something, somewhere. i think that's where superstitions come from. it's easier to believe that things happen for a reason, however dumdum that "reason" may be. when you've had bad luck for the day, chalk it up to that black cat. or shards of glass. or that ladder you walked through. or your housemate who swept the floor (oh heaven forbid!) last night. when you find yourself spouseless, do a mental run-through of all the meals you've had in your lifetime and hunt down that cousin who walked out on you without spinning the plates. toinks. creative? yes. makes sense? uh not really.

the most rational explanation for all irrational things is that maybe, we just aren't supposed to understand. or not equipped to understand. maybe. malay ko ba. perhaps this constant suspension of disbelief is what makes everyday a wee bit more interesting.

i'm not really a fan of superstitions... but karma, yef. digital karma in a digital world.
