WHAT TEACHERS DO WHEN THERE ARE NO KIDS (and classrooms) YET
* CLOCK IN
* cut, paste and mount, laminate... finish all these within an hour and a half after clocking in
* open computer... go online... check facebook
* download fonts
* laminate all flimsy pieces of paper within arm's reach
* check facebook
* go through things-to-do checklist... check done stuff... feel rattled when most get checked already
* rack brain and add items to things-to-do checklist (i.e. ___ make tomorrows's *things-to-do* checklist)
* check facebook
* read kids' files and grill former teachers about them
* text parents about updates... reminders... "yes. school is still starting. don't worry, we'll get your child off your hands."
* check facebook
* launch itunes and sing along neyo and BEP songs to keep self awake
* summon brain surges for possible activities and lesson themes
* check facebook
* memorize kids' allergy list
* "plot" finances... that paycheck gotta be worth every penny
* check facebook
* remember a deadline for the day and cram in the final minutes
* pack away 3 giant teacher bags with lotsa materials
* check facebook for last time
* CLOCK OUT
see? kids make the teachers. :) i can't wait to meet our class! :)
